Coaches comments on the Triangular Session at Hemel

Great to see you all after the enforced weather break of the last few weeks and even nicer to see that big yellow thing in the sky!!!

I hope you’ll all agree that it was a really enjoyable morning’s rugby which demonstrated our strength throughout the age group. For the record we were P11, W7, D1, L3

I understand that the guys on the lower pitches put in a great shift and dominated their early matches with everyone contributing. The feedback I have received from the coaches so far has been very positive and it showed with lots of big smiles as the kids came off the pitches. I think it worked that we went in without subs meaning everyone got lots of game time.

Big shout out to my team on the morning. They had to contend with Hemel A team who have been the dominant side in our region since we were U8’s. They are hugely physical and despite being 2-0 down at half time, the boys were massively committed and drew the second half 1-1. The tackling was superb and our defence was so aggressive that Hemel were being pushed back continually. We went on to draw 2-2 with Tring A’s in the second game and could have sneaked it, had a certain Sarries coach / ref not pulled them back for a forward pass as they went in for the winning score (sorry lads!).

Overall a very satisfying morning but still plenty to work on!
