Biography:
What the RFU say: Lauren took to rugby at an early age. When just eight, she first tried it out first for Chesham Stags before appearing for Bucks Jesters while spending three years with her college team, Moulton before moving onto Saracens who she has played for for the past couple of seasons. It was there that her career advanced by taking up an AASE (Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence) programme. Her mentor there was Jon Phillips, the course manager, coach and former Northampton Saints and Bedford Blues player.
Born in High Wycombe and educated at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted, she advanced her rugby playing skills at Moulton College and it wasn’t too long before she was winning her first full England cap. She represented England under-20s against France and has also been a member of the South West side. In 2011, she was Player of the Tournament at the Rosslyn Park Sevens and was also named Player of the Year at Moulton.
Lauren made her England sevens debut at the age of only 18 in the European Series event at Marbella in June in 2013 when she scored a try and kicked four conversions in the 40-0 pool win over Germany.
Away from rugby, Lauren also plays netball and helped Moulton to finish third in a national basketball competition in 2011. She is also currently studying Strength & Conditioning at St Mary’s University College in Twickenham.
